Vijay was first elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough – Rouge Park in 2018. He is one of the youngest and first Tamil Canadian to be elected as a Member of the Provincial Parliament in Ontario.

In 2019, Vijay was appointed as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation.

Vijay is the MPP for Scarborough – Rouge Park and will continue to serve the residents.
